With their roster taking shape ahead of a pair of exhibition games against the Saginaw Spirit, the Soo Greyhounds made official a pair of signings on Wednesday.

After earning spots on the team, centre Morgan Frost and defenceman Theo Calvas have officially signed with the team.

Frost and Calvas were both selected by the Greyhounds in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, Frost in the fourth round and Calvas in round 14.

Frost spent the 2014-15 season with the Barrie Jr. Colts where he posted 30 goals and 55 points in 30 games.

“As a young player coming into training camp Morgan got better every day,” Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis said in a release. “Morgan demonstrated the skill and skating that a player needs to contribute with our team.”

“What really separates Morgan from a lot of players his age is how he thinks game on both sides of the puck at a very high level,” Raftis added. “He will fit into our style of play and we are very excited to have him a part of our team.”

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Calvas scored two goals and six points in 25 games last season with Detroit Little Caesars.

“Theo stood out from the first day of training camp as a player that has made massive strides over the summer,” Raftis said. “With his combination of great anticipation, assertiveness and mobility for a player his size, we are very excited to see where Theo’s ceiling as a player will be as he adjusts to the OHL level.”

The Greyhounds have a pair of exhibition games, set for Sept. 18 and 19 when the team plays a home-and-home set with the Saginaw Spirit. The two teams meet in Saginaw before making the trek north on I-75 to finish the weekend in Sault Ste. Marie the following night.

The regular season opens on Sept. 25 when they host the Windsor Spitfires.
