Greyhounds, Frontenacs swap goaltenders

The Greyhounds also get a trio of draft picks in the deal

The Soo Greyhounds have dealt overage goaltender Charlie Schenkel to the Kingston Frontenacs.

The move comes ahead of today's trade deadline for overage players in the Ontario Hockey League.

In return, the Greyhounds receive overage goaltender Nolan Lalonde and three draft picks.

Schenkel posted solid numbers with a struggling Greyhounds team this season.

The fourth-year netminder has a goals against average of 2.89 and a 0.914 save percentage through 25 games.

In 110 career games with the Greyhounds, Schenkel posted a record of 48-40-7-3 with a 3.19 GAA and a save percentage of 0.893.

Lalonde joined the Frontenacs over the summer after winning a Memorial Cup title with the Saginaw Spirit last season.

Also in his fourth year in the league, Lalonde has a career record ot 65-60-9-6 with a 3.62 GAA and a save percentage of 0.874.

As part of the deal, the Greyhounds also receive a third round pick in 2026 (originally their own), a fifth in 2025 (originally Brampton's), and a sixth round pick in 2028.
