The Soo Greyhounds scored a big road victory on Saturday night with a 4-3 win over the Barrie Colts.
Using a pair of goals in the second period and two more in the third, the Greyhounds extended their unbeaten streak to three games with two wins and a tie in four games under new head coach Craig Hartsburg.
After Jordan Shine gave the Colts a 1-0 first period lead, Chris Lawrence, who has begun to find his offensive touch, scored 44 seconds into the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Tyler Kennedy scored on the power play at 10:26 to give the Hounds a 2-1 lead.
Former Greyhound Aaron Lewicki tied the game for the Colts late in the period.
Blair Jarrett's fourth goal of the year at 5:22 of the third period put the Hounds in front to stay. Reg Thomas would eventually get credit for scoring the game winner just 31 seconds later.
Chad Robinson scored with 5:36 remaining in regulation time to pull the Colts to within a goal at 4-3 but Jakub Cech, who stopped 44 of 47 shots, closed the door in goal for the Greyhounds.
Jeff Carter recorded a pair of assists for the Greyhounds while Kennedy and Lawrence, who was named the game's first star, added a helper each. Andrew Marshall picked up two assists for Barrie.
The Greyhounds conclude their three-game road trip on Sunday against Mississauga at 2 p.m.
Next home action for the locals is Wednesday at Memorial Gardens against the Sudbury Wolves at 7 p.m.
