The Sault Cycling Club (SCC) is thrilled to announce the launch of our fundraising campaign aimed at raising $30,000 to “Close the Loop” on the Farmer Lake trail system. We’ve secured a spot with Holocene Trail Building Co. for early summer construction, and we’re excited to take this next step toward completing the project.

Join us in supporting this vital project to extend the Farmer Lake trail along Crystal Creek's south side, from Mable Lake to the snowmobile bridge (see green line on the map). This challenging 5+ km section may take two years and extra funding to complete, making your donation essential to keeping us on track.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

As part of our fundraising efforts, we will be hosting a Silent Auction at our Awards Night on Saturday, April 5th at The Root. This event will offer an exciting opportunity to support the project while bidding on unique items and experiences. We would love it if you would consider contributing to this event, whether through a donation for the auction or purchasing a ticket to attend. Your involvement will directly help us raise funds for this important trail development.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this new trail section (see below). Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. Donors will be publicly recognized on our social media platforms, inspiring others to get involved.

Closing the Loop will play a pivotal role in making Sault Ste. Marie an even more cyclist-friendly community, offering residents access to beautiful green space all year round, while also encouraging tourists to visit. It will provide an inclusive experience for cyclists of all levels, and its year-round accessibility will also support winter cycling and snowshoeing.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly by phone or email. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to partnering with you on this exciting project!
