Team Brad Jacobs will have a new member for the time being.

The team announced via social media on Wednesday afternoon that Ryan Fry is taking a leave from the team following events over the weekend in Red Deer that saw the Team Jacobs third kicked out of a World Curling Tour event where he was competing on a team with Jamie Koe.

In a statement posted by Fry to his Twitter account and reposted to the Team Jacobs Facebook page, Fry said in part, “Due to recent events, I have decided to take a leave from Team Jacobs. As hard as this is, I need to focus my full energy on my growth and self-improvement as this goes beyond last weekend’s events.”

The Jacobs rink said in a post that, “we believe how Ryan is handling everything is a true reflection of his character.”

The team said Fry will not be with the team for “at least” the next two events, but has not yet confirmed who will take his place.

More to come . . .
