The Soo Greyhounds and Windsor Spitfires will have to wait one more day to meet at the GFL Memorial Gardens.
In a release issued Thursday afternoon, the Ontario Hockey League announced that the first of a pair of games between the two clubs scheduled for this weekend has been moved to Sunday afternoon.
Friday’s contest, which will now be played Sunday afternoon at 2:07 p.m. at the GFL Memorial Gardens, was the first of games on back-to-back days locally between the two clubs.
The teams are also scheduled to meet on Saturday night in a 7:07 p.m. puck drop in the Sault.
Friday’s game is one of a number of schedule changes announced by the league on Thursday.
The league announced that four upcoming games have been postponed, including:
- Saturday, Jan. 8 – London Knights at Flint Firebirds
- Saturday, Jan. 8 – Sarnia Sting at Saginaw Spirit
- Saturday, Jan. 8 – Kitchener Rangers at Erie Otters
- Wednesday, Jan. 12 – Kitchener Rangers at Flint Firebirds
In addition to the rescheduled game between the Greyhounds and Spitfires, two other games have been rescheduled for this weekend, including:
- Saturday, Jan. 8 – Erie Otters at Kitchener Rangers (from Jan. 14)
- Saturday, Jan. 8 – Flint Firebirds at Saginaw Spirit (from Feb. 2)
