Playing golf in the dark can actually promote safety? Who knew!
Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District and Silver Creek Golf Course have announced the 2023 Crime Stoppers Night Light Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 18.
Organizers say the tournament is a unique 9-hole, best ball tournament — at night!
Not to worry. Golfers will be equipped with glow-in-the-dark golf balls, and the course and holes will be marked with LED lighting.
Teams are encouraged to “get their glow on” and decorate their carts with glow sticks and other glow gear. Prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated cart.
Teams of four will enjoy a selection of appetizers, and a cash bar, before teeing off to compete to be the Crime Stoppers 2023 Night Golf Champions.
The night will wrap up with pizza and prizes, organizers said in a release.
The cost for a team of four is $400. Golfers must be 19 or older to participate.
All proceeds stay local and go to continuing Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste Marie & Algoma District’s efforts to prevent and solve crime.
Teams can register online by clicking here. For cash, cheque, or e-transfer payments, proceed to complete the registration forms and submit via email to [email protected] or drop them off at the front desk at the Sault Ste Marie Police Services building, 580 Second Line East.
