In addition to being without Brady Martin this weekend, the Soo Greyhounds will also be without coach John Dean for two games as the team opens a three-game road trip tonight.

The Ontario Hockey League announced today that Dean has been suspended for two games and fined $1,000.

The decision comes after Dean was given a game misconduct in the final seconds of Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the North Bay Battalion.

Dean was critical of referees Alex Schmidt and Joshua Houselander following the game after Martin was given a major penalty for interference with 20 seconds left in regulation time.

North Bay scored with 8.8 seconds to go in the game to beat the Greyhounds.

Dean was tossed shortly after the game-winning goal was scored.

Martin was suspended for three games for the hit on Battalion forward Nolan Laird, who left the game with the help of the North Bay trainer and went to the dressing room.
