The old gym will likely be rocking on Friday night when the Sault College Cougars play host to the unbeaten Fanshawe Falcons in an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball game. The Cougars are 2-2 in the tight OCAA West Region, while Fanshawe is 3-0. Three schools -- Lambton, Niagara and St. Clair - all have 2-1 records. Fresh from a home-court win over Niagara last week, the Cougars face a tough challenge in Fanshawe. Cougars' head coach Thomas Cory has had his charges working extra hard in practice on boxing out and rebounding. A weak spot during the first three games of the season, rebounding was a Cougar strong point in the win over Niagara, as both Tim Walker and Jeff Rennison stood out. The Cougar men are part of a hoops resurgence at Sault College. Home games in the cozy Sault College gym have featured standing-room only crowds this season. Friday's Cougar-Fanshawe men's game begins at 8 p.m. It will be preceded by a women's game between Sault College and Fanshawe at 6 p.m.
