Ron Kelly stomped off the bench midway through the first half Friday night and ignited the Sault College Cougars to a 92-72 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball win over the previously unbeaten Fanshawe Falcons. The Cougars and Falcons were trading leads until Kelly, a rookie who played high school ball at Bawating, sank a pair of long threes to shift the tide in favour of the Sault. Kelly finished with 17 points on the night for the Sault, which improved to 3-2 in the OCAA West Region standings. Fanshawe, now 3-1, plays at Algoma University today in a 2 p.m. start. Tim Walker led the Cougars with 22 points and Sean Seivwright added 19 to go with Kelly's 17. In Friday's women's game, unbeaten Fanshawe upended Sault College 79-35. Lee Ann Faganely led the Cougars with nine points, while Jen Cronin and Erica Nethery added seven apiece. Fanshawe plays the Algoma University women at noon today.
