The Sault College Cougars will be out to retain their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men's basketball status in London on Friday night.

With a 4-2 record, the Cougars are in first place in the OCAA West Region. But just behind Sault College are the Niagara Knights and St. Clair Saints, both with 3-1 records.

The Fanshawe Falcons -- who play host to Sault College on Friday -- are 3-3, while the Lambton Lions, with a 2-1 record, have nine games still to play.

Sault College will have some added height for Friday's game at Fanshawe in the person of 6-foot-7 post Ryan Court. Court played at Sault College a few years ago and is now back at the school. He will see his first action of the season on Friday.

The addition of Court to the Cougar line-up should take some of the pressure off of 6-foot-4 forward Tim Walker. Besides being one of the Cougars' top scorers, Walker has been the Sault's workhorse rebounder so far this season.

Meanwhile, the Sault College women are also at Fanshawe on Friday to play the Falcons, who lead the OCAA West Region with a perfect 5-0 record.

The Cougar women are a first-year entry in the OCAA and are playing non-conference games against league and non-league teams. They plan on joining the OCAA full time next fall.
