The Korah Colts galloped to a season-opening win on Saturday in senior high school football action at Superior Heights.
The Colts scored five touchdowns via the run game in a 46-6 win over Superior Heights Saturday morning in the kickoff to the season for both squads.
Cole Barbeau had a pair of touchdowns on the ground for Korah and finished the day with 136 yards rushing on eight carries.
Barbeau ran for touchdowns of 54 and 62 yards in the game, while Gabe Byron (21 yards), Jesse Burella (21 yards) and quarterback Erik Martone (one yard) had the other rushing touchdowns for the Colts in the win.
Burella chipped in with 140 yards rushing in the win on just five carries, while Kaylob Thibodeau ran the ball seven times for 97 yards for Korah in the win.
Field goals from Ty Koski and an early-game safety rounded out the Korah scoring in the win.
Defensively for Korah, Lucas Malcolm had three tackles in the win.
Quarterback Gabe Barkley had the lone touchdown for the Steelhawks, running the ball in from three yards out. A workhorse for the Steelhawks, Barkley ran the ball 15 times in the game for 101 yards.
Barkley finished the day completing four of 11 pass attempts for 39 yards.
On the defensive side for Superior Heights, Caden McLeod had 6.5 tackles, while Tyler Barrow had five.
The Steelhawks have a bye in week two, while Korah returns to action on Sept. 16 against St. Mary’s.
