As the senior girls high school basketball season gets underway, the Korah Colts will look to make it six straight city titles.
The Colts enter this season on the heels of 11 consecutive wins last season to capture the senior title.
On Tuesday night, the Colts got 23 points from Gracie Sloss in a 56-23 win over White Pines.
Kyler Grisdale chipped in with 17 points for Korah.
Madison Jackson had six points for White Pines while Jadyn Zack and Mackenzie McBride had four points each.
In Tuesday’s other senior game, Alea Nye had 14 points as Superior Heights beat St. Mary’s 43-20.
Hannah Heimonen added eight points for the Steelhawks in the win.
Mercedes Mazzuca led St. Mary’s with 12 points.
In junior action on Tuesday, Ella Zachary had 12 points and Lucy Lafrance had 11 as Korah beat White Pines 70-12.
Ava Wessel had four points for the Wolverines.
Tuesday’s other junior game saw St. Mary’s beat Superior Heights 19-12.
Ashlyn Noble had 16 points for the Knights while Emmalie Allard had seven points for Superior Heights.
This weekend will see Sault College host the Sault College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Regular season action resumes on Oct. 1 when St. Mary’s hosts Kora and White Pines hosts Superior Heights. The junior games tip off at 5:15 p.m. with the senior games to follow at 7 p.m.
