Colts, Knights move to 2-0 in high school hoops

The unbeaten schools will meet in week three action at St. Mary's

The girls high school basketball season continued on a pair of fronts this week.

On Tuesday night, Korah picked up wins at both the junior and senior levels at White Pines.

In the junior game, Katie McFarlane led all scorers with 20 points as the Colts beat the Wolverines 41-17.

Olivia Hiscock had seven points to lead White Pines.

Tuesday’s senior game saw Korah beat White Pines 69-16.

Liz Burrows had 11 points for the Colts while Molly Watson and Mikayla Tremblay added 10 points each.

Chloe Cormier scored seven points for the Wolverines.

On Wednesday night, St. Mary’s also scored a pair of wins in action at Superior Heights.

Kyla Viotto had nine points in the junior game as St. Mary’s beat Superior Heights 52-14 to improve to 2-0. Sienna Magli added seven points for the Knights.

Lily Rumiel led Superior Heights with four points.

Wednesday’s senior game saw the Knights pick up a slim 48-47 win over the Steelhawks.

Ashlyn Noble led the Knights with 19 points while Ella Zachary had 11 points.

Taya Shackelton led Superior Heights with 17 points and Sadie Grawbarger had 16 points.

Next week will see unbeaten teams meet at St. Mary’s in both junior and senior action as Korah takes on St. Mary’s on Wednesday night.

Also on Wednesday, Superior Heights will host White Pines.

Junior games at both schools will tip off at 5:15 p.m. with the senior games following at 7 p.m.
