Make it back-to-back Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics (NOSSA) titles for the Korah Colts.
The Colts scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to open up a 21-0 lead by halftime en route to a 41-0 win over North Bay’s West Ferris Trojans on Saturday afternoon in North Bay.
Noah Grasley ran for a touchdown late in the second quarter and then caught a 30-yard touchdown pass in the final seconds of the quarter to make the score 21-0.
Tyler Brechin also had a touchdown run in the opening quarter.
“Our offensive line played very well, we established the run game,” Colts coach Tom Annett said in an interview with BayToday. “They started to take some things away, which opened some other things up and I thought our players and coachers did a really good job of counter-punching and finding some other openings.”
Michael Nicoletta ran for a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter while Gabe Martynuck also ran for a major.
The team will now prepare for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) bowl series later this month.
The Colts will play in the Northern Bowl as the annual three-day event.
The Colts will face the Central Ontario champion on Nov. 28.
