The Korah Colts capped off a perfect regular season on Friday night in senior high school football action.

Despite persistent rainy conditions, the Colts picked up a 40-7 win over the Superior Heights Steelhawks at Superior Heights to finish the regular season with a 4-0 record.

Michael Nicoletta got the Colts on the board with 6:50 to go in the opening quarter on a 25-yard run and then Nathan Lajunen caught a pass for the two-point convert to give Korah an 8-0 lead.

The Colts went up 10-0 thanks to a safety with 4:46 to go in the quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, Tyler Brechin ran the ball in from 41 yards out for the Colts. Gaston Matila of Korah kicked the convert to make the score 17-0.

Noah Grasley ran the ball in from 58 yards out early in the third quarter for the Colts to extend the lead. With the convert by Matila, the Colts went up 24-0.

The Steelhawks then conceded a safety to make the score 26-0.

The Steelhawks did get on the board in the fourth quarter thanks to a 79-yard touchdown run by Miles Borkowski and convert by Ryan Guindon, but the Colts added a pair of majors in the quarter as well.

Late-game touchdowns from Gabe Martynuck on a 26-yard run and Thomas Thibault on a 16-yard run made the final 40-7 Korah.

Ryan Barnes had a tackle and four assisted tackles for Korah while, defensively for Superior Heights, Cam Taylor had four tackles and five assisted tackles.

Thanks to finishing in top spot, the Colts advance straight into the city final in the three-team senior look.

The Steelhawks, who finished the regular season with an 0-4 record, will return to action on Oct. 18 when they play in a semifinal game against St. Mary’s (2-2) with the winner earning the other spot in the city final one week later.
