************************* Cody Thornton to set new OHL record on Saturday

When Cody Thornton steps onto the ice on Saturday night (March 17), not only will the Greyhound captain lead his team into its final regular season game of 2006/2007, he will also put himself among the elite of the OHL and in the record books.

A draft pick of the Belleville Bulls in the third round (55th overall) of the 2002 OHL Priority Selection, Thornton made his Major Junior debut back on September 21, 2002 when the Bulls played host to the Peterborough Petes.

Since that day, the Woodstock, Ontario native has played five seasons in the OHL while missing just 12 regular season games.

Saturday his career total will hit 328 regular season games played, thus surpassing the old OHL mark of 327 held by Nick Lees (Oshawa, Guelph, Barrie and Saginaw).

At the start of the second period Saturday, Thornton will be recognized for this accomplishment with a ceremony to take place at centre ice.

The Hounds host the Sarnia Sting on the evening with the game starting at 7:30 p.m.
