Classic winter weather spoils Winter Classic hockey weekend

Sault College men's hockey game against the University of Cincinnati has been cancelled, but women's contest against St. Lawrence Tech still a go for Saturday afternoon

The Winter Classic men's hockey game scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. between Sault College and the University of Cincinnati at the Northern Community Centre has been cancelled because of anticipated poor weather conditions, according to a news release.

However, the women’s game is still on. The Cougars, reigning ACHA Women's Division 2 National Champions with a perfect record this season, will face off against Lawrence Tech at 2 p.m.

Tickets purchased for the event will still provide entry to the women's game. Tickets will also be available at the door for $10. Sault College students and children under 12 can attend for free.
