Cambridge Turbos to meet Luvia in world club championship final

Sault Ste Marie, Ontario - Cambridge Turbos and LuKi-82, Luvia are the top two club teams in the world and they will meet tomorrow in the final game of the world club ringette championship being held in Sault Ste Marie. The game will take place at 2:00 pm EST.

Today's competition saw the end of round-robin play and the top four teams meeting in semi-final action this evening. Cambridge Turbos continued to dominate the competition and nailed the top spot after going undefeated all week. They met up with fourth place Calgary RATH in the first semi-final game and true to form came away with a win (5-3). Cambridge's Jenn Wakefield picked up a pair of goals and three assists for the win.

Luvia and Espoo met in the second semi-final, after finishing up round-robin play in second and third respectively. Luvia downed their Finnish counterparts 7-3, which was exact replay of their round-robin match-up the night before. Elina Raesola continued her scoring streak and picked up a hat trick and a pair of assists in the game. Raesola was the leading scorer during round-robin play, picking up an astounding 13 goals and 13 assists.

Luvia now goes on to meet Cambridge in the final. The Turbos were the only team to deliver the Finnish powerhouse a loss in the competition. When the two met earlier in the week, Cambridge downed Luvia 5-2. Cambridge's Meghan Pittaway was the top goalie in round-robin play, coming away with a 2.75 goals against average.
