The Clarica/Blueliners Bulls and Smack Daddy's hoisted the Mayor's Cup championships on Saturday night at the Pee Wee Arena.

The Bulls successfully defended their crown with a 9-4 win over A.J. Bus Lines in the open division final while Smack Daddy's stripped the title away from Tulloch Engineering with a 5-3 victory over the defending 33-and-over division champions.

Mark Losa paced the Bulls with three goals, Denny Lambert and John Bossio added two each while singles went to Dan St. Germain and Al DiPasqua. Mike D'Agostini replied with two for A.J. Bus Lines while Matt Dias and Dave Doan added one each.

The Bulls built a 2-1 lead before the end of the first period when A.J. Bus Lines goaltender Don Bruni was forced to leave the game with an injury. With no backup on the bench, the officials sent the teams to the dressing rooms for an early intermission while A.J. Bus Lines summoned the services of Michael Maulucci from the crowd.

But the Bulls lineup, loaded with former professional and junior players, proved to be too much for the young guns from A.J. Bus Lines to handle as the Bulls opened a 6-2 lead after two periods.

Gary Roach recorded three assists for the Bulls while Dan Lambert, Denny Lambert, Bossio and Mike Flammia set up two each. St. Germain also added a helper. Zack Torquato racked up two assists for A.J. Bus Lines and Doan set up another.

In Smack Daddy's win, Frank Porco and Tim Zeppa scored twice while Tony Jameus added another. Frank Giaccone, Travis Halerow and Nelson Duschene replied for Tulloch Engineering.

Tied at 1-1 after one period, Tulloch Engineering opened up a 3-2 lead in the second period with a pair of power play goals. But Smack Daddy's rebounded with three unanswered goals in the third period to capture the championship.

Other members of the Bulls include goaltender Steve Farkas, Cory Evans, George Wood, Beau Neveau, Paul Spina and Anthony Dezordo.

Other member of Smack Daddy's include Troy Thibault, Brent Smith, Barry Bissonnette, Trevor Robidoux, Craig Taylor, Brain Duchame, Mark Entwistle, Dan Nardo, Greg Vance, Chad Bouchard, Dean Anderson, Rich Brown and goaltender Rob Gibney.
