Boxing returns to town on Saturday

Local boxing enthusiasts will have a chance to see the gloves fly on Saturday night as the sport makes its return to Sault Ste. Marie. Hosted by the Sault Ste. Marie Boxing Club, a full card of action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the Rankin Arena.

Local boxing enthusiasts will have a chance to see the gloves fly on Saturday night as the sport makes its return to Sault Ste. Marie.

Hosted by the Sault Ste. Marie Boxing Club, a full card of action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the Rankin Arena. Admission is $10.

Joining members of the local club are competitors from Sudbury and Mississauga as well as fighters from Michigan.

Highlighting the night is the main event between Garden River's Karen Bell and Mississauga's Joyce Findley.

Other locals scheduled to compete are Mike Hayes, Aaron Desmoulin, Marty Ellis, Steve McEwen, Jamie Ellis, Patrick Kelly, Chris Madsen and Tim Smith.

The Sault Boxing club is coached by Dan Ellis, Phillip Bye and Hayes.
