Two teams have secured a spot in Saturday's Mayor's Cup championship after the first set of semi-final games on Thursday night.

The Blueliners Bulls scored a 7-3 win over A.J. Bus Lines in the Open Division semi-final while Tulloch Engineering beat Blueliners 7-1 in the Over-33 Division at the Soo Pee Wee Arena in the annual men's league tournament.

The winners will await the results of Friday's second set of semi-final match-ups. In the Open Division, the Soo Kings will meet McDougall Fuels at 8:30 p.m. while Mr. Transmission and Stitch King/Weedman will battle in the Over-33 Division to open the night at 7 p.m. at the Pee Wee.

On Thursday, Gary Roach scored a nice wrap-around goal with three seconds remaining in the second period to boost the Bulls to victory. With the Bulls leading 4-3, Roach's effort deflated any chance of an A.J. Bus Lines comeback.

Al DiPasqua led the Bulls with a goal and three assists while Mark Losa scored once and setup another. Dan Lambert, Denny Lambert, Dan St. Germain and Richard Bishop scored once each. Ryan Leonard, Roach and Paul Spina each recorded two assists.

Greg Mizzi led A.J. Bus Lines with a goal and two assists. Anders Deresti and Beau Neveau scored a goal each while Dillan Altoff added a pair of assists.

In the Over-33 Division, Brad Webkamigad paced Tulloch Engineering with two goals and two assists. Travis Halcrow, Jim Junor, who also added an assist, Brian Dailey, Bill Shiells and Paul Syrette scored once each. Scott Sloss added three assists.

Doug Witty scored the lone goal for Blueliners.

The Mayor's Cup final for both divisions will take place on Saturday night at the Pee Wee. The Over-33 Division final will face off at 7 p.m. while the Open Division final is slated for 8:30 p.m.
