7th Annual Spring Charity Hockey Tournament takes Place at local Arenas to Raise Funds for our Sault Ste. Marie Oncology Unit

This weekend Open Ice 3-on-3 will host their 7th Annual Spring tournament here in Sault Ste. Marie. With over 1,100 players competing on 122 teams, this event promises to be both exciting and fast-paced. Tournament organizers are thrilled with the response to this year's tournament that boasts a jam-packed schedule with 293 games taking place at the Rhodes, Pee Wee and McMeeken Arenas beginning Thursday (April 26th) at 4pm and concluding on Sunday (April 29th) evening.

"This is an exciting and fun weekend for the community of Sault Ste. Marie", commented tournament organizers, "we've even added a men's and ladies division for the first time!" Teams from all over Northern Ontario will be visiting Sault Ste. Marie, with 39 out-of-town team registrations included in this year's contingent. Over the last 6 years, the Open Ice tournament has raised over $104,000 for local cancer needs. The Spring Tournament is intended to give young players a chance to play the game they love while feeling the satisfaction that comes with contributing to a worthy cause.

An invitation is extended to everyone to come out and enjoy a game or any one of the 19 championship tilts on Sunday afternoon.
