On the heels of a playoff appearance at the Toronto Titans tournament one week earlier, the Greyhounds picked up a trio of wins, two in overtime, over the Timmins Majors at the John Rhodes Community Centre to open regular season action.

On Sunday afternoon, Ethan Esposito was the hero for the Jr. Greyhounds, scoring with 1:39 to go in the overtime frame to give the locals a 6-5 win.

The game-winner capped off a three-goal performance for Esposito that included the game-tying goal with 1:01 to go in regulation time.

Devin Mauro had a pair of goals and assisted on two others for the Jr. Greyhounds.

Tyson Doucette had the other Sault goal.

Desmond Brazeau had a pair of goals for Timmins, while Landon Deforge, Mason Berthiaume, and Harry Clark also scored.

On Saturday night, Esposito had a pair of goals as the Sault beat Timmins 6-2.

Gavin Ritacco and Michael Chaffay had a goal and an assist while Mason Chitaroni and Dylan Forsyth also scored.

Deforge had a goal and an assist for the Majors. Gavin Martel had the other goal.

On Friday night, Mauro scored in the final minute of overtime as the Jr. Greyhounds opened the weekend with a 4-3 win.

Mauro finished the night with a pair of goals while Ritacco assisted on a pair of goals. Michael Beltrano and Conner Toms had the other Sault goals.
