'Your centre of choice' new home of We Are The Soo expos

The annual We Are the Soo Health and Wellness Expo, Home Renovation and Décor Expo and the Big Sport and Outdoor Show are moving to the Station Mall in 2019.

The popular series of exhibitions will be set up throughout the mall and will feature over 120 vendors, with many offering giveaways, door prizes, show specials and discounts. Attendance is free for the general public.

• Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, We Are the Soo Health and Wellness Expo
• Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3, 2019, We Are the Soo Home Décor and Renovation Expo
• Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, 2019, the We Are the Soo Big Sport and Outdoor Show

The Health and Wellness Expo is a day dedicated to body, mind and spirit, featuring nutritional, mental, physical, emotional and financial health and wellness exhibits. Start the new year in a fresh and fit way.

The Home Décor and Renovation Expo brings together the latest in home fashions and lifestyle, indoor and outdoor renovations, do-it-yourself projects and contractor services, along with a chance to talk to our local experts.

The Big Sport and Outdoor Show showcases everything needed to enjoy our northern Ontario outdoor lifestyle, from power toys to camping to docks and deck chairs. If it has to do with the outdoors and fun, you will find it at the Big Sport and Outdoor Show.

“Over the past years we have listened to our customers, the public and our members. This new partnership will deliver on all their expectations,” notes Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce CEO, Rory Ring.

According to Ring, bringing the expos to the Station Mall makes good sense for both exhibitors and attendees. “Our exhibitors will get more one-on-one with potential clients and customers thanks to increased traffic. It will also reduce costs for exhibitors and it means that we will no longer need to charge an admission. It’s a win-win-win.”

Station Mall is home to 80 businesses and the We Are the Soo expos will add anywhere from 40 to almost double the number of businesses for attendees to visit during each expo.

“The We Are the Soo expos provide a unique opportunity for Station Mall to showcase its diverse roster of tenants while partnering with the Chamber to feature some other great businesses from the community and beyond. Station Mall provides a unique venue and layout for these expos and attendees will certainly appreciate the on-site parking and other amenities. As a proud member of the Chamber of the Chamber of Commerce, Station Mall is very excited about this new partnership,” says Station Mall general manager, Michael Szczepaniak.

About the We are the Soo Expos

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Spring Sports Show in March 1976 at the Sault Ste. Marie Armouries; it featured 28 local and area exhibitors. Year after year, the show grew and became a recognized harbinger of springtime. During the last 44 years, the show has undergone periodic re-branding. The We Are The Soo theme was adopted in 2017 and the event was expanded to a series of three exhibitions.
