Workweek Outlook: Ring in the snow squalls

Shortly after the arrival of 2025, the cold northwest will begin driving temperatures back to more typical winter values

The unusually warm and wet weather will end early this week. Shortly after the arrival of 2025, the cold northwest will begin driving temperatures back to more typical winter values. With this change in air masses, the snow squall machine will kick back into gear and bring more snow to the Sault region.

The rain/snow mix ends early Monday morning, but clouds remain for the rest of the day, with gusty northwest winds and daytime highs of +3°C.

Tuesday will be cloudy, with temperatures hovering around +2°C.

We might finally see some breaks in the clouds on New Year's Day, but daytime highs slip to -1°C. Northwest winds bring a chance of snow squalls in the afternoon and evening.

Colder air moves into the region on Thursday and Friday and combines with west-to-northwest winds to continue the risk of squalls and accumulating snow into the weekend. Afternoon temperatures fall to -7°C for Friday and this coming weekend.
