High pressure will keep the Sault region locked into colder-than-normal conditions for another week. Overnight lows will be near -20°C all week, and daytime temperatures will be over five degrees colder than normal for mid-February. Making it even worse will be the persistent winds that will make it feel like -20°C during the warmest part of the day.
Monday will be partly cloudy, with a cold northwest wind pushing daytime highs down to -12°C and bringing windchill values below -20 all day. We could see a brief flurry later in the afternoon.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and windy, with temperatures only reaching -11°C and windchill values again below -20. A few isolated flurries are possible in the afternoon.
Wednesday remains mostly cloudy with daytime highs of -8°C.
We should see some breaks in the clouds on Thursday and Friday as temperatures climb to near -4°C by the end of the workweek.
Warmer air and more snow will arrive this weekend and early next week.
