Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory as of 10 p.m. on Sunday.

“Heavy lake effect snow off Lake Superior will continue tonight. This heavy snow will ease early Monday morning to light flurries.

“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” the release said.

The advisory recommended postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve and slowing down when driving in slippery conditions.

“Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.”
