Why we're proud of Andrew Stocker

Andrew Stocker, a student from White Pines Collegiate and Vocational Institute, has been selected to receive a fully-paid university education at Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario.

Andrew Stocker, a student from White Pines Collegiate and Vocational Institute, has been selected to receive a fully-paid university education at Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario.

Chosen through tests for aptitude and physical fitness as well as his grade average, Stocker will get his books and tuition in the mechanical engineering program paid under the Regular Officer Training Plan.

He'll also receive a monthly salary.

After graduating, Stocker will be employed full-time with the Canadian Forces as an infantry officer.

Andrew comes from a military family and has been an active member of cadets.

He's currently a member of the Canadian Forces Reserves.

At White Pines, Stocker has been a member of the Envirothon and SmartAsk teams, the White Pines concert band and a dedicated participant in math contests.

In 2001, he was a delegate to the Lake Superior Environmental Youth Symposium.

Andrew competes in biathlons (skiing and shooting) and enjoys reading, running, and cycling.
