********************* Wanuskewin Family Resource Centre

Wanuskewin Family Resource Centre offers CAP-C (community Action Program for Children) and CPNP (Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program) services for Métis and Off-reserve Aboriginal families from pregnancy to six years of age. All programs offered at Wanuskewin Centre are culturally focused according to Ojibwa traditions.

Non-aboriginal peoples are welcome to participate in all aspects of our program.

The Centre has been in operation since April of 1998 and is located at 1100 Wellington Street East (across from McGregor Ave near Pine Street).

We pride ourselves in offering programming in a comfortable home-like atmosphere with a garden and large play area in a fenced-in back yard.

At this time, we offer services such as:

• Parenting Programs and Seminars • Elder Teachings on traditions • Breast-feeding Support • Parent/Child Arts and Crafts • Community Kitchens • Home Visiting Services/Family Support • Infant Stimulation Programs • Toddler/Preschool Stimulation Programs • Emergency Foods and Supplies • Community Outings • Parental Relief • Infant Weigh-ins • Transportation Services • Adult Specific Crafts • Cultural Crafts • Referrals • Community Garden • Educational Resources • Local Resources Network • Self Confidence Workshops • Weight Management Program Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. and programming hours are from 11 a.m. -3 p.m., Monday to Wednesday with a light healthy lunch and snacks available daily.
