NEWS RELEASE

CITY OF SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
The Public Works and Transportation Department (PWT) is asking for assistance from the residents of Sault Ste. Marie as people begin their outdoor spring cleaning.

We ask that you do not sweep grass, leaves or sand into the catch basin near your home or property. Nearby storm drains should also be kept free of all debris.

Accumulated debris will cause drains to become plugged, resulting in potential flooding.

Residents should take caution when in close proximity of drainage systems. Parents should ensure children and pets stay away from these hazardous areas.

Public works crews have begun the annual task of cleaning catch basins and clearing storm drains.

The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks you for your cooperation in assisting with this annual clean-up.
