No one was injured in an early morning residential fire on Saturday, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services said in a news release issued today.
Shortly before 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a call of a reported residential fire in the downtown area of the city.
Crews responded to a fire in a multi-unit residential dwelling in the 0-100 block of Wellington Street East, where they were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
Further investigation revealed the fire was a result of combustible materials in close proximity to a baseboard heater.
There is significant damage to the residence.
