A 67-year-old Wawa man was charged last week with break-and-enter — then arrested again the next day for allegedly breaching his release conditions.

Shortly before 10 a.m. on June 9, the Superior East Detachment of the OPP was told about a home break-in on Third Avenue in Wawa. A man was subsequently charged with break-and-enter of a dwelling house in connection with the incident.

The next day, shortly before 6 p.m., police say they saw the same man on Broadway Avenue breaching his release conditions. He was arrested again and charged with two more offences: obstructing a peace officer and failure to comply with a release order.

Jean-Guy Fournier has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing. None of the allegations against him have been tested in court and he is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
