Wallace Terrace house fire deemed suspicious

Authorities are currently investigating a fire scene at a multi-unit residence on Wallace Terrace. 

Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services arrived on scene shortly before 8 p.m. last night.

As reported earlier, the fire caused significant damage.    

Sault Fire Services fire inspectors have deemed the fire as suspicious, said Lincoln Louttit, Sault Police spokesperson Thursday.

Two units in the multi-unit residence were vacant.

The lone occupant of another unit did not sustain physical injuries.

The fire began in one of the vacant units, Louttit said.

The dollar-value extent of the damage is not available from Sault Fire Services.
