******************************* GTA’s wing war heats up with launch of super-sized Wacky Wings Eatery, Beverage and Sports Co.® in Mississauga

TORONTO - Entertainment giant Playdium sinks its teeth into the wings business with the opening of Wacky Wings Eatery, Beverage and Sports Co. on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 1248 Dundas Street East (west of Dixie Road) in Mississauga.

Offering more than 100 flavors of chicken wings on the menu, the sprawling 16,000 square foot restaurant and sports bar combines the interactive fun of Playdium with the great food of Wacky Wings Eatery and Beverage Co. for a thoroughly entertaining dining experience.

In addition to chicken wings, the menu includes burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, appetizers, pizza and so much more.

Brothers Craig and Damon Burgess launched the first Wacky Wings Eatery and Beverage Co. in 2007 on Lake Street in Sault Ste Marie.

The business was so successful they opened a second location six kilometres away (on Great Northern Road) a few years later.

When talk of further expansion began, the two entrepreneurs sought out Len Keywood, CEO of Playdium, and a long-time friend of the Burgess family, to partner with them to launch in southern Ontario.

Keywood chose a site in Mississauga where they could house over 500 people, encompassing a restaurant, a stunning sports bar with big screens and over 65 televisions, a fun zone featuring the latest interactive games, and 25 billiard tables.

Keywood worked with Joe Cho of J Cho Designs to transform the space.

Similar to the original Sault Ste. Marie locations, the walls of the Mississauga venue are covered in spectacular Northern white cedar, while custom-designed wooden tables and chairs evoke the natural beauty of a Muskoka log cabin.

Six lumberjacks travelled to Mississauga where they spent over 10 weeks hewing and chiseling the massive cedar logs on site.

Wacky Wings Eatery, Beverage and Sports Co. opens to the public Thursday, February 3, 2011 and will operate from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
