Algoma University and the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club are hosting the 2025 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Nordic Ski Championships at Hiawatha Highlands from Feb. 20 to 23, 2025, and they need your help.

Algoma University and the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club are thrilled to host the 2025 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Nordic Ski Championships at Hiawatha Highlands, Sault Ste. Marie’s premier destination for winter sport.
This prestigious multi-day event will bring together top university athletes from across Ontario to compete on our world-class trails. To ensure the championship’s success and uphold the high standards of the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club, we are seeking 100 dedicated volunteers to join our team!
No prior experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to help out! Relevant training and instructions will be provided prior to and during the event.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a major athletic event in our community, meet like-minded people, and experience the excitement of university-level competition up close.

Get ready to embrace the beautiful winter setting at Hiawatha Highlands. Most volunteer roles are outdoors, and we have a variety of tasks available:
- Course Set-Up and/or Take-Down
- Stadium (Finish Area) Set-Up and/or Take-Down
- Race Office Support
- Timing Assistance
- Start/Finish Line Support
- Food Services (serving and replenishing snack tables)
- Parking Coordination
- Course Control
- Volunteer Organization
- Photography
