VIDEO: Van narrowly misses head-on crash with transport

24-year-old driver from North Bay charged after scary incident on Highway 11

The driver of a van is lucky to be alive, police say, after almost hitting a transport head-on while on Highway 11 North.

On the afternoon of December 3, OPP were called to a two-vehicle collision in North Bay. The driver of the delivery van hit the road shoulder momentarily, then swerved across the highway almost colliding with the transport head-on.

The 24-year-old driver from North Bay was charged with "unsafe move - lane or shoulder."

The North Bay OPP reminds motorists that a driver's inattention, even for just a moment, could result in death.

"Let's make sure no tragedies occur by doing our part," says an OPP news release. "Pay attention, slow down and drive safe."
