Turns out, all 5 smiled for the camera (5 photos)

Last week, Sault College photographers issued a challenge to each of our local federal election candidates. As it turns out, every single one of them answered by having a special portrait shot by the creative students.

Last week, Sault College photographers issued a challenge to each of our local federal election candidates.

As it turns out, every single one of them answered by having a special portrait shot by the creative students.

The following descriptions were provided by project coordinator Andrea Ayotte for each candidate portrait.

Bryan Hayes

Bryan Hayes is the current MP for Sault Ste. Marie.

He is a member of the Conservative Party and is seeking re-election in the upcoming Federal election.

He is working hard to support the local families in the city with programs that will help new parents, which is why this photo was taken in Bellevue Park at the playground.

Mike Taffarel

Mike Taffarel is the candidate for the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada running in the Sault Ste. Marie riding for the upcoming Federal Election.

He is retired from Essar Steel and his campaign is based around the jobs that would be created if the steel plant was running at full capacity.

The location for this photo was chosen because in the background you have the International Bridge, which is a representation of the transportation of goods to and from Sault Ste. Marie, and Essar Steel.

Skip Morrison

Skip Morrison is the Sault Ste. Marie candidate for the New Democratic Party of Canada.

We chose this location to represent his actions to help out the indigenous communities.

Kara Flannigan

Kara Flannigan is the Sault Ste.Marie candidate for the Green Party of Canada.

We chose this location for Kara to show her concerns of climate change and protecting the environment for future generations.

Terry Sheehan

Terry Sheehan is the Sault Ste. Marie candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada.

We thought the location chosen for Terry was ideal because he has strong relations with the business community, and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
