Impaired and drug related arrests
On the 1st of August 2013 at approximately 2 a.m., officers from Patrol Services observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Pine Street at a high rate of speed and were able to stop the vehicle on Great Northern Road.
The officers [allegedly] found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.
As a result 21-year-old Mark Lomas of 49 Fairmount Drive was charged with one count of consume over the legal limit.
While officers were dealing with Mr. Lomas, his passenger asked if he could retrieve some of his property from the trunk.
When the officers opened the trunk for the passenger, they located a large quantity of marijuana.
Officers from the Drug Unit were called in to assist with the investigation.
A total of 1,362 grams of marihuana, a digital scale and packing supplies were seized.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $27,240.
As a result 22-year-old Kyle Thibodeau of 350 Pine Street was charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
Both males will appear in court on September 9, 2013.
