Music lovers are invited to join Algoma University for a fundraising concert early next month.

The university's Department of Music is hosting the event on Thursday, March 7, at 8 p.m. at The Machine Shop. Headlined by Treble Charger and opened by student bands, all proceeds will go towards supporting the music program.

Music faculty Frank Deresti and alumni Dave Peredun will join Greig Nori and Bill Priddle for a full Treble Charger set, opened by bands of Algoma University Music students.

“We are excited to see our students, faculty and alumni come together on stage with local music heroes Treble Charger!” says Andree-Ann Deschenes, Music professor at Algoma U in a news release issued today. “It is a unique experience for everyone to support our program in a meaningful way - not only by raising money but also by providing an opportunity for all of us to engage with the community and for students to be an integral part of a professional production.”

Proceeds raised will help to fund student scholarships, invite guest artists, and to purchase equipment and instruments.

Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
