Town south of Sault, Mich. secure after police involved shooting

Goetzville, Stalwart, Pickford area secure following a shooting that left one police officer wounded, and transported to the hospital yesterday afternoon

SAULT, MICH. - Goetzville, Stalwart, and Pickford are said to be secure following a shooting that left one police officer wounded and transported to the hospital yesterday afternoon.

Chippewa Country Sheriff's Office said there was no threat to the public at this time. 

Multiple law enforcement agencies, as well as emergency medical services, responded to the area surrounding East Sand Ridge Road and South Reynolds Road in Stalwart, which were closed to traffic.

Responding agencies included but were not limited to US Marshals Service, Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, and Michigan State Police.
