A severe thunderstorm Wednesday afternoon brought with it heavy rain and high winds in the Sault Ste. Marie area and left damage behind.

The high winds left behind downed trees in some areas, including on St. Joseph Island. 

Details on exactly how much damage was caused is not known at this time though some readers reported a tornado on the Island, though that has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
