This Queen Street eyesore could be yours for as little as $40,000 (4 photos)

328 Queen St. E. has been vacant for more than a decade. It was extensively damaged in a 2009 fire

City officials are hoping to sell one of downtown's worst eyesores this month for unpaid taxes.

Christine Pascall, city tax collector, is conducting tax sales this month for 328 Queen St. E. and four other properties.

328 Queen was already unoccupied on March 18, 2009 when it was extensively damaged by a fire that was blamed on faulty wiring.

Tenders will be accepted at the city tax office on the second floor of the Civic Centre until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.

Minimum bid on 328 Queen is $39,469.30.

Other properties listed for tax sale this month are:

  • 181 Andrew St., scene of a 2009 arson (minimum tender $23,054.86)
  • 47 Wellington St. West. (minimum tender $6,060.45)
  • 358 Dryden Ave. (minimum tender $4,473.97)
  • 0000 Third Line West (minimum tender $1,859.14)

Tax sales are subject to cancelation in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Act’s tax sale provisions.

Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit representing at least 20 per cent of the tender amount.

Further information about this sale for tax arrears and copies of prescribed tender forms are available at the municipal tax office or by calling 705-759-5290.
