UNITED WAY SAULT STE. MARIE

***************************** United Way Sault Ste. Marie and Sault College would like to extend a thank you to donors and volunteers who completed Day of Caring 2010.

Sault College trades students and five Sault College faculty members, accompanied by Sault College’s Vice-President Academic Leo Tiberi, Chair of Skilled Trades Corey Meunier, Board of Governors Member Bob Wilding, along with the President and CEO of PUC Services Inc. Brian Curran , and United Way CEO Gary Vipond.

Students began their day at 8:30 a.m., and continued throughout the day, ending with a hearty lunch provided by Sault College.

Homeowners were thankful for the projects being completed, with windows being caulked and sealed, leaves being raked and bagged, and in houses that were approved for programmable thermostats were fitted with them and the owners were shown how to properly set the thermostats.

Seven households in total were assisted, and students and faculty alike were commended on their efficiency, politeness and cleanliness during the project.

The weather was perfect as everyone spent much of their Saturday outdoors enjoying the last of October’s warm temperature.

Of course, without our donors this project could not have been as successful as it was.

Thank you again to PUC Services Inc, Soo Mill, Home Hardware, Lyons TIM-BR Mart, National Supply and Joe’s Sports for every generous donation, participation, and involvement that you donated to this project.
