'The Show' will be presented Nov. 9 at The Loft, a venue built in the third floor of the Algoma Conservatory of Music. The event will combine music, dancing and magic performances with a showcase of fashions from Forty-Five Social and Lucy Ro.

A Spring Street business is giving back to the community with an upcoming show in support of a local men's residence and soup kitchen.

'The Show' by Forty-Five Social and Lucy Ro will bring a full night of entertainment to The Loft on Nov. 9 in support of St. Vincent's Place.

"We just we want to give back to the community and celebrate the good things that we have here in Sault Ste. Marie," said Tara Calvano, co-owner of Forty-Five Social and Lucy Ro, businesses that combine men's and women's clothing, beauty products, cafe, bar and barber shop in one space.

"It's the time of year right now when people are in need."

The businesses often hold events and this year they saw a call to the public for food from St. Vincent's Place, which sparked the idea to support the downtown men's residence and soup kitchen. Tickets to the event are being sold by donation of $20.

"We had seen an article on SooToday that St. Vincent's Place was in need of volunteers to prepare food and serve food, so we thought why not partner with them?" said Calvano.

The event will feature live music, dance performances, magic and a showcase of fashions from the stores.

"Tickets are going to be by donation and we thought $20 is a good number," said Calvano. "It's not too much for people and they're also going to get a night out."

If all 150 tickets are sold, a total of $3,000 will be raised for St. Vincent's Place. The businesses are covering the costs of the venue and performances.

"We're just so excited to be able to do it again and this time actually give back to St. Vincent's Place, who expressed the need," said Calvano. "So we're answering the call."

Forty-Five Social opened in 2021 at 117 Spring Street. Partner store Lucy Ro is located in the same space, offering apparel, skin care, make up and accessories, among others items.
