Weapons Charges

On the 16th of August 2016 shortly after 12:30 p.m. City Police attended at an east end address after receiving a 911 call of a male pointing a firearm at two persons.

It is alleged that a 17-year-old male got into a verbal argument with an adult male known to the accused.  The incident occurred inside of the residence.  

The accused then pointed a sawed off rifle at the victim and threatened him.  An adult female was also in the residence and witnessed this. 

The two victims fled the residence and called police.

Officers from Patrol Services and Emergency Services Unit attended at the address and took the accused into custody without incident. Officers from Investigation Service attended at the scene and took over the investigation.  

The firearm was located by officers.

As a result a 17-year old male has been charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, two counts of pointing a firearm, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, one count of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon and one count of breach of probation.  The accused is appearing in bail court this morning.
