The Sault's first New Year's Eve Puck Drop is also happening on Tuesday.
This free, family-friendly event will light up the Downtown Plaza on Dec. 31. The large, illuminated puck, chosen by the community, will be suspended approximately 80 feet above the Downtown Plaza, lighting up the night sky to welcome 2025.
The puck drop will occur twice in the evening, once at 8 p.m. for families with young children and again at midnight for those later enjoying the celebrations.
In hockey town spirit, those in attendance can fill out a ballot to win a pair of tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs game on Feb. 22 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
The draw, sponsored by Molson Canadian, will take place in the Downtown Plaza after midnight.
Live children’s performances will be put on by local favourites Fun and Funner and Shari Tallon. Later in the evening, Golden Scoundrels, and ABBA Soo take the stage.
The Downtown Plaza skating rink will be open until midnight, and various food and specialty beverage stations will be available.
