Statement regarding charges against Jeff McWhinney

****************************** Officials with Schuster Boyd McDonald have been made aware of the charges against Jeff McWhinney of Sault Ste. Marie.

Schuster Boyd McDonald played a role in alerting the proper regulatory authorities of the alleged misconduct after officials first heard speculation of fraudulent activity last spring.

Schuster Boyd McDonald immediately ended its "associate" relationship with McWhinney.

As an associate, Mr. McWhinney was not an employee of Schuster Boyd McDonald.

He acted independently when it came to case management and client services.

Even though Mr. McWhinney was never an employee, Schuster Boyd McDonald has been continuing to assist the police and regulatory bodies in helping the alleged victims to resolve this matter.

Officials with Schuster Boyd McDonald will have no further comment related to this case while it is under investigation and before the courts.
