St. Vincent Place has teamed up with a local dentist who is helping with the unprecedented demand for its Lunches for Learning program.

In its third year, the program has nearly 300 children registered.

Registered families receive weekly packages that include nutritious lunch foods so children don't go hungry at school.

The packages include several perishable items that include fresh fruits and vegetables, yogurt, cheese, and deli meat, which are purchased weekly at local grocery stores.

“We spend upwards of $2,000 every week on Lunches for Learning, so every donation to the program really helps, and this is a great opportunity to double your impact,” said Sara McCleary, marketing manager and Lunches for Learning program coordinator at St. Vincent Place. “We are extremely grateful to Dr. Biasucci for his support and look forward to connecting with other local businesses to ensure we help as many local kids and families as possible.”

St. Vincent place has teamed up with Dr. Carlo Biasucci, who has committed to supporting the program to help bring families off the waitlist.

Dr. Biasucci has committed to matching all new donations until the end of the year up to $15,000.

“With the pandemic, and now the recent economic circumstances, many families have been squeezed to the point where some are choosing whether to pay bills or buy groceries,” said Dr. Biasucci. “In the business community, many businesses took a hit with the pandemic, but some also came out relatively unscathed and are now thriving. I am asking, for those who can, to join St. Vincent Place in supporting those families who are falling through the cracks by supporting the Lunches for Learning program.”

Dontations can be made online or by cash/cheque at St. Vincent Place. Cheques should be made out to St. Vincent Place with Lunches for Learning in the memo line.
