Ever since SooToday and LOCAL2 joined forces back in 2013, a dedicated team of videographers has been working hard to bring Sault Ste. Marie high-quality, local news and specialty programming like Random Acts of Kindness, New in the Soo, Trending, Tuned, What’s Your Dish?, Right Hooks and more.

As LOCAL2 integrates with SooToday over the coming weeks, there will be some changes to programming, but we are confident loyal LOCAL2 viewers won’t be left wanting. Anyone who visits LOCAL2 once the integration occurs, will be directly linked to SooToday.

While we are saying goodbye to the daily Newscast and Morning Minute, most of the great programming you have come to expect on LOCAL2 will continue on SooToday, with fresh new segments set to debut as well.

And the same talented team of journalists and producers that has made LOCAL2 the Sault’s go-to site for local online video, will also be bringing you new forms of video news in the near future.

“We are really excited to make LOCAL2 part of SooToday. This is an important step in the evolution and expansion of SooToday’s news coverage in the community,” said Jeff Elgie, Village Media CEO. “This integration is a great opportunity for LOCAL2 staff to refocus on video that will complement and enhance our SooToday news coverage. It will also increase our overall reach in the community. For advertisers, this means more opportunity to reach the widest audience in Sault Ste. Marie, through both the ad options they already know, and pre-roll advertising in the videos.”

Archived LOCAL2 programming isn’t going away. Viewers will be able to access old shows and videos on the new SooToday video programming page.

Stay tuned!
